Oh Chicago, you cruel, insidious lover, you just won’t let me go, will you? Just when I think I have had enough of your freezing winds slapping my face and your always “lower than average” spring temperatures, I make the mistake of taking my bike out and riding a block to the lakefront where I proceed to fall in love with you all over again. I swear you’re like a bad boyfriend who just needs a boot in the butt. A boyfriend who leaves me in tears and whispers false promises to me and then…I ride your bike path along LSD, letting the cold sun rays caress my face and hair, stopping to watch birds land on the icy sand mounds by North Ave, and there I am. Once again, in love with you.
